Policies


  • Health and Sanitation

    Health and sanitation are important to our clients and us. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with inflamed skin and scalp issues.

  • Scheduling

    When scheduling, please schedule accordingly. (i.e., if the schedule for 6 weeks and its actually 8 weeks) The price will be adjusted accordingly. Appointment may or may not be rescheduled due to time. There will be a $60 fee for clients that return and Loc'd in Beauty has not seen for 3 months or more. 

       New and transfer clients will need a consultation which is scheduled by a consultant.

  • Establishment

    Hair should be clean and product free for your Sisterlock® to be established. Clients are encouraged to bring reading materials, electronic devices, pillows (one for the head and one to sit on), blankets, snacks, or anything that will make the client more comfortable. Please be aware a complete establishment can take 2-3 days. However, variables such as hair condition, length, density, and hours worked per day.

  • Cancellations, No-Shows, & Tardiness

    When an appointment is forgotten or canceled without giving enough notice (48 hours), the opportunity to fill that time is missed, and other clients may miss the opportunity to receive services. Appointments are confirmed 24 hours in advance because it can be quite easy to forget an appointment. It is understood that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. Therefore a 24-hour notice is respectfully requested. Failure to do so will result in a $50 cancellation fee, which will, in addition to your regular service charge, be collected before your next appointment is scheduled.


    A 10 min grace is given for tardiness. After 10 min a $25 late fee will be charged. After 30 min, the appointment will be rescheduled or canceled! (Conditions apply) DO NOT TEXT or CALL at the time of appointment to inform of being late. A COURTESY TEXT OR CALL SHOULD BE SENT AT LEAST 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT IF RUNNING LATE. 


    No-Shows attract a $75 charge, which may result in the termination of the consultant-client relationship. 


     Frequent cancellation of appointments, no-show, and failure to adhere to instruction can result in clients being released from the business agreement.

  • Guests

    Note, Children or guests should not be present unless being serviced.


    NOTICE: BY BOOKING, YOU agree TO THE TERMS OUTLINED ABOVE. IF YOU BOOK WITHOUT READING AND ADHERING TO THESE TERMS LOC’D IN BEAUTY CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. 

  • Payments

    Payments are made online via the booking app.


    To secure your establishment appointment, you will be required to make a non-refundable retainer of $250, which will be applied to your establishment cost. This is done because blocking our calendar for a specific time does not allow others to schedule services, with the remainder the day before establishment.

  • Consultation

    A CONSULTATION IS MANDATORY BEFORE ANY SERVICE. CONSULTATIONS ARE $25-$50 AND ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. 


    Hair must be loose with no braids or cornrows and freshly washed no more than 48 hours before the scheduled consultation. Hair should not be blown dry or contain any products, I.e., grease, oil, jams, butters, or sprays. Your consultation will be rescheduled at the consultant's convenience if any products are used before your appointment. All prices quoted at consultation are good for 30 days unless otherwise agreed upon between client and consultant.


  • Follow-up Visits (STARTER LOCS, SISTERLOCKS AND BROTHERLOCKS)

    Retightening visits are determined by the growth rate and type of the individual's hair, typically 4-6 weeks. Failure to adhere to a regular schedule affects the retightening period and can affect the hair's condition, such as breakage, matting, and other undesired results caused by irregular maintenance. Loc’d in Beauty is not be held responsible for these results if conditions outlined are not followed. If a newly established client decides to not keep the appointed return for retight, the regular retight fee shall be applicable.


    Hair must be freshly washed within a 24 hour period and separated before set appointments. This applies if the client shampoo before the appointment. 

  • Transfer Clients

    All clients who are not established by Loc’d In Beauty are transfer clients and must have a consultation before a retightening/retwist will be given. This is done to access the condition of the hair and make any recommendations if needed. At this time, the client is encouraged to discuss any issues or concerns. A $50 (non-refundable) consultation fee will be charged and applied to the service when scheduled. 

  • Refund Policy

    Consultations are non-refundable. Deposits for services are non-refundable once service is booked—deposits for installations/establishments however your quote is redeemable for 30 days. After 30 days, a new consultation is required, or a $50 growth fee will be applied. 

  • Photography and Video

    **Photography and Video Policy for Loc'd in Beauty**


    **Overview:**

    At Loc'd in Beauty, we value the creativity and artistry of our work, and we understand the importance of capturing and sharing our efforts through photography and videos. This policy outlines the guidelines for capturing, sharing, and using images and videos taken within our premises.


    **1. Consent:**

    Before capturing any photographs or videos within our premises, all individuals involved, including clients and staff, will be asked for their explicit consent. We will ensure that their consent is informed and voluntary.


    **2. Ownership:**

    All images and videos captured within the Loc'd in Beauty premises will be considered the property of Loc'd in Beauty. This includes content captured by clients, staff, or authorized photographers/videographers. This ownership allows us to use these materials for various purposes, including but not limited to social media, newsletters, email marketing, and training.


    **3. Use of Images and Videos:**

    Loc'd in Beauty reserves the right to use images and videos captured within our premises for the following purposes:

       - Social Media: Sharing content on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to showcase our work and promote our services.

       - Newsletters: Inclusion in newsletters sent to our subscribers and clients to provide updates, promotions, and informative content.

       - Email Marketing: Incorporating visuals into our email marketing campaigns to engage with our audience.

       - Training: Utilizing images and videos for training purposes, such as staff training, educational materials, and workshops.


    **4. Privacy and Confidentiality:**

    While capturing and using images and videos, we will respect the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and staff. We will not disclose sensitive or personal information without prior consent.


    **5. Client Requests:**

    Clients who do not wish to have their images or videos used for any of the aforementioned purposes can request that their content not be shared. We will honor such requests and ensure their privacy is respected.


    **6. Compliance:**

    This policy aligns with all applicable laws and regulations related to photography, videography, and privacy rights. Loc'd in Beauty is committed to maintaining compliance with these laws at all times.


    **7. Reporting Concerns:**

    If any individual has concerns or objections regarding the use of their images or videos, they are encouraged to contact our management team. We will address these concerns promptly and work to find a suitable resolution.


    By capturing and sharing images and videos within the Loc'd in Beauty premises, all parties involved acknowledge and accept the terms outlined in this policy. We believe that these guidelines will help us maintain a respectful and creative environment while showcasing our talent and services.
